These fun dancing skeletons are so much fun to make!  They are very easy to cut, and I am offering you a variety of ways to finish them to make them simply dazzling!

Since they are cut from 1/8” plywood, they are great to stack cut so you can make several at a time.  The smaller set is painted using some bright, neon colors, and the larger set is painted in traditional neutrals, for a spooky, ghoulish look.  I then added a layer of DecoArt Weathered Wood medium and off-white paint for a wonderful crackled effect, that gives those ‘old bones’ character and charm.  Finally, I rubbed a little bit of DecoArt’s Metallic Lustre water-based metallic wax on them for a beautiful shimmer.  The wax paste is super easy to control and adds a wonderful metallic glow to the pieces.  (You can watch a video of me applying these products at ....)  Finally, I gave each piece a cute little glittery bow, which can’t help but make you smile! After all - who said that spooks have to be spooky?

If you wish, you can simply glue the bones together in any configuration you choose, but I chose to join the limbs using everyday wire and some rounded pliers.  You can hang them in a garden or even add some magnets to them and hang them from the refrigerator.  Wherever you display them, you can be sure they will bring smiles to many faces!  I hope you enjoy making this project!

When I made the sample pieces, I wanted to show a variety of looks that could be achieved with several different combinations of colors.  Of course, you don’t have to make all of your skeletons different. I am just providing options for you. A color chart is provided with the pattern linework.

This is a beginner level scroll saw pattern.
