SLD450 - Layered Springtime Basket
These little baskets are fun and easy to do, and they are a great way to use up scraps or smaller pieces of wood. Not only are they attractive, but also functional, as they can be used for candy, flowers, or just about anything you can think of. They make nice centerpieces and also are great for holding gifts such as baked goods. The possibilities are endless!
This pattern includes two different handles for the basket to give it a different look. I included a cute bunny handle that would not only be nice for Easter, but also for display all throughout the spring and summer seasons. The plain handle is softly routed and can be displayed just about any time of year. Wouldn’t this basket be attractive filled with beautiful autumn gourds??
You can even adjust the height and shape of the basket by adding or subtracting layers. On the one example, I added an extra walnut layer to elongate the bottom of the basket and to give it some extra height and an interesting shape. (I marked the extra piece as OPTIONAL on the pattern) But you can experiment with adding or subtracting any of the rings for other unique looks.
