SLDK122 - Western Scrub Jay Segmentation Plaque
This plaque is a great piece that is easy and fun to do. It is cut from a single piece of maple, then sanded with a Dremel, stained and reassembled. The results is a beautiful, realistic scrub jay. You can also use this pattern or any of the segmentation patterns for intarsia work that you may want to do. Just use different species of wood for the differently colored parts and finish with a clear varnish. Or you can even use natural colored stains to look like you are using different species of wood for yet another beautiful effect. Beginner to intermediate scroll saw and segmentation pattern.
