Another addition to our "Leaf Bordered" self-framing wildlife plaques. This plaque is cut from one piece of hardwood and uses stained plywood or veneer for a backer. The inner oval is cut with a bevel cut which allows it to set back into the frame. A fun design that is quite easy to cut, this project is considered an intermediate level scroll saw pattern.

The official bird of my home province of Nova-Scotia, Canada, the osprey, is a very large bird of prey with a wingspan that can reach a massive 6 feet! They can be found in many places around the world near bodies of water since their diet consists almost entirely of fish. This of course is what earned them the nickname "fish eagle" or "sea hawk" even though they are neither eagle nor a true hawk.

Pattern includes linework for 8" X 10" and 10.5" X 13" versions.

This scroll saw pattern is also available as part of discounted mix-and-match "Self-Framing Leaf Bordered" sets. You can find links to these sets below.
