Spring Is Almost Here!

The days are getting longer and before long we’ll all be able to put away the shovels and open up the windows and get some wonderful fresh air. What better time to get at those woodworking projects before summer’s heat hits?

For my Free Pattern, I designed a little bunny candy dish that is so quick and simple to do, you will want to make an entire ‘litter’ of them! They make great Easter gifts filled with small jelly beans or chocolate eggs and can be left out all Spring and Summer long! They use up small scraps of extra wood you have and can be painted in beautiful pastel colors or left natural for an entirely different look. (Try one in Walnut for a ‘chocolate’ bunny!) Just go to the” Free Stuff” page or click on the link below to download the PDF pattern and ‘get hoppin’!

I have added many brand new patterns for your scroll sawing enjoyment. By popular request, I have decided to continue the Forest Leaf series with a new series called “Forest Leaf Endangered Animals“, which will depict endangered animals in the leaf frames. I have also completed the series of Seasonal Songbird patterns by adding the Autumn, Winter and Spring sets. Be sure to look on the “Current Sales” page for special pricing on these classic fretwork plaques. There so many new items that there are just too many to mention here so be sure to check out the “Newest Woodworking Designs” page to see them

I am now offering a comprehensive, downloadable catalog which features all of my available designs. The catalog will be offered for free download, but I will also be able to mail you a hard copy for a small fee to cover the shipping. If you order a hard copy, you will receive a coupon towards your first order.

Finally, I have also updated my Links page. This is a great resource for supplies, patterns and forums that you may be interested in. I try to find suppliers both in Canada and in the United States so that everyone has access to what they need. If you are in need of something that isn’t listed, just contact me and I will be happy to help you find it.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope enjoy browsing around the site and find some fun and interesting projects to make. Remember I love to see pictures of your work and I am always here to answer your questions and concerns.

Best Regards,

Sheila

A Bit About Me

Thank you again for your interest in my designs! In 1995 I created my company, "Toys In The Attic" as a vehicle to share my creativity with you. Many changes have occurred in my life recently, and I felt it was time to change my company name from ‘Toys In The Attic’ to 'Sheila Landry Designs'.

Originally, I came from the Chicago area in the United States. I began my woodworking and painting ‘career’ just after my daughter Danielle was born, nearly 19 years ago. A very dear friend of mine, Cari Denison, introduced me to scroll sawing and I have very fond memories of those early days with Cari of learning to scroll saw, painting and doing projects – all while watching our four young children and taking care of our houses and families! As the kids grew up, we eventually went our separate ways.

Life’s circumstances have brought me to Nova Scotia, Canada and I have been fortunate to be able to continue designing and working with Creative Woodworks as a Contributing Editor. My first design appeared in Creative Woodworks in April of 1997 and I have been working with them ever since. They have a wonderful site and offer some free projects online and their magazine offers the best designers in the scroll saw industry. (OK, I am prejudice!) Check out their site at www.woodworksandcrafts.com and see what they have to offer.

I have recently achieved my Permanent Residence Status here in Canada after five long years of ‘red tape’. As a result of this new status, I will be able to finally settle down and get everything in order. This will, hopefully allow me more time to create new designs and work more efficiently. I have many new designs in the works, and am very excited to share them with you.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued patience and support throughout these years of transition. It has been very unsettling for me at times, and I do appreciate your tolerance to all the changes I have made. Again, I am forced to change my phone number, so if you need to correspond with me, your best bet for now is to please email me at
sheilalandrydesigns@gmail.com.

My door is open anytime if you have questions or need advice. If I am unable to answer the question myself, I have a number of resources I can connect you with so you can have your answers quickly.

I hope you continue to enjoy my designs as much as I enjoy creating them for you!

Sheila Bergner-Landry
